“A thousand times I failed, Your mercy remains…” (Singing the song, From the Inside Out by Hillsong)
This morning, my family virtually traveled to Ascension Parish in Kansas. The Gospel was about the woman caught in adultery. Whenever I heard this reading, the words “go and sin no more” always jump out to me.
I am reminded of the analogy in The King of the Golden City: “when you fall, do you stay there crying? No, you get up again and continue on.” (Paraphrase from The King of the Golden City) In my life, I have struggled with sin. However, when going to the sacrament of Reconciliation, I am given the graces needed to carry on. The priest after absolution repeats the words of Christ in today’s Gospel, “Go and sin no more.”
If you can, go to the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Jesus, in His Mercy, is waiting for you there. He wants to help you get up like the woman in the Gospel.
